John's Magical Mitochondria Mix-Up
Hogwarts

Part 1
Hogwarts Castle was bustling with its usual cacophony of activity. John, the recently appointed Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, was feeling increasingly apprehensive about his first week. After all, teaching magic to a classroom full of temperamental teenagers was proving more challenging than battling dark wizards! "Come on, John, you can handle this," he muttered under his breath, trying to steady his nerves.
Without warning, Neville Longbottom's anxious voice echoed down the corridor: "Professor McCarthy, we have a rather... concerning situation with the potion!" John hurried toward the potions classroom, his robes billowing behind him. When he arrived, Harry, Ron, and Hermione were clustered around a cauldron from which tendrils of luminous green smoke were spiraling upward in mesmerizing patterns.
"What on earth is happening here?" John asked, approaching cautiously.
Hermione, characteristically the first to offer an explanation, launched into a rapid account: "We were attempting to enhance the energizing potion's efficacy by adjusting the proportions, but the reaction has produced this unexpected bioluminescent effect!"
John leaned in to examine the phenomenon more closely. The potion was indeed emitting an ethereal, pulsating glow. "How fascinating," he mused. "I recall reading about this precise luminescence in an ancient tome about cellular magic. It's intrinsically linked to mito..."
"Mitochondria!" Hermione interjected enthusiastically (naturally, she couldn't help herself). "They act like magic personal power stations in our bodies and produce about 90% of the energy a cell needs to live."
Ron chuckled and rolled his eyes. "Mito-what? That sounds more like an incantation than biology!"
John smiled at the comparison. "In many ways, it is rather magical! Each mitochondrion has its own DNA, which is different from our main DNA, and we only inherit it from our mothers. It's hereditary magic written in our very cells!"
"I know exactly what needs to be done," Hermione whispered with confidence, raising her wand toward the bubbling cauldron.
In the next instant, the potion erupted in a spectacular explosion of light! Everyone stumbled backward as the room flooded with iridescent energy, and then something extraordinary happened—they all felt overwhelmingly, impossibly energetic. Harry began defying gravity, sprinting across the ceiling. Ron launched into an impromptu breakdancing routine. Hermione started conversing fluently in five different languages simultaneously!
John stood frozen in astonishment: "Merlin's beard! This is beyond anything I anticipated—I must take action immediately!"
